How to make fake blood (costume/ prop research)

Because blood is a common convention used in psychological thrillers, we wanted to ensure that we incorporated it into our film. we also wanted to make sure that we had plenty of fake blood as we had decided to use it on the end scene when our 'bad guy' Jane fell downstairs to her death. Therefore I thought that it would be handy to know how to make fake blood so that we would be able to make fake blood so that we could make quite a lot so that we wouldn't run out of it. And if we needed any more we would be able to makes some.
