Opening Titles: Paint Test

Using our plans for the opening titles to our short film, we decided to test numerous parts in order to see what worked well. Then when we come to the final shoot, we have a better idea of what to do in order to minimise the amount of time it will take.

For one of these tests, we tested paint in water.using a Go Pro camera. This was to see which thickness and colour of paint looks best in order to give the impression of blood spilling into water. We also tested different items of holding the water, from glasses to sinks.

We decided that this colour/thickness of paint worked the best:

And that this holder, the sink, gave the best effect:

We will therefore do some further testing, mixing these two in order to try and create a final method.
