MAKING THE BOOK FOR THE OPENING TITLES.
For parts of the opening titles, I planned shots of a scrapbook made by the killer (inspired by opening titles for the movie Se7en and the character Francis Dolarhyde's scrapbook in Red Dragon). However, this meant I had to make a scrapbook from scratch before filming the scenes I needed. Here are the steps I took to make it.
First, I researched scrapbooks in the style I wanted in order to mimic the style closely.

- To make the scrapbook, first I used a few old sheets of paper and bound them together to create a "book" using masking tape and staples to add a home-made effect.
- I then stuck in photographs of the main characters, the mask, a knife, newspaper clippings as well as other things and edited them by, for example, drawing over the eyes in the photographs of the people.
- Then I wrote random paragraphs on six-seven pages, which is almost unreadable but is made up of quotes from books such as Dante's Inferno as well as quotes from the movies Red Dragon, Se7en and American Psycho. This was to add the effect of 'insanity' as most of these journals feature pages and pages of text that is used to show the active mind of the serial killers.
- I then destroyed the journal to some extent to make it look old and tattered.
- Overall the journal took 3-4 hours to make.
Here are the pages of the journal:
