Games
along with the first teaser trailer for the film inception, WarnerBros created a website featuring a video of a spinning top, that as time progressed began to wobble until it revealed an online game ‘Mind Crime’ when players completed the game it revealed the poster for inception, later it was expanded so that players then unlock other features such as hidden trailers, images and websites all related to the film.

Videos
likewise Prometheus used videos as forms of viral advertisement, a video was produced that appeared to be a TED talk from the year 2023, and aired at an actual TED conference. After this a corporate style production video for one of the characters (David, who is a robot) was then released.

A very successful viral marketing technique was the hidden messages produced for the release of Batman ‘The Dark Knight’ created whysoserious.com based on the famous quote from the franchise, which started a scavenger hunt leading fans to various locations throughout the US to find clues.
