Syd Fields says that films can be seen as a 3 act plot, These 3 acts are:
Act 1- set-up: shows the main plot points, locations, main characters, helps the audience get an understanding of the film.
Act 2- confrontation: fighting, all of the conflict, the difficulties/problems that happen in the the film.
Act 3- resolution: explains the things that have happened, everything is ok.
This is another theory that could be applied to our short film as there aren't that many things that have to be found where as with propp's theory it is harder to find all 31 functions in the film as it only 5 minutes.
